About the PayPal fee calculator

When you receive a payment through PayPal, the system deducts a fee, so the amount that lands in your account is smaller than what was sent. The calculator shows how much you will take home, or the reverse — how much the sender must transfer so that the amount you need remains after the fee.

A PayPal fee is usually made up of a percentage of the amount plus a fixed fee per transaction. The exact rates depend on the country, currency, and transaction type (for example, domestic or international), so the default values can be adjusted. All figures are indicative — confirm the current rate in your PayPal account.

The calculation: amount received = amount sent × (1 − percentage fee) − fixed fee. When you need to receive an exact amount, the requested sum is derived in reverse: (desired amount + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − percentage fee). Rates vary by transaction type and currency, so adjust them in the calculator to match your own PayPal fee schedule.

  • A percentage fee on the received amount is combined with a fixed per-transaction fee. For example, if the rate is a percentage plus a fixed amount, both parts are added together and deducted from the transferred sum.
